Schooled Towards What Ends? Contingent Hospitality and Contested Belonging in the Afterlives of the War on Terror

Drawing upon his extensive research with youth in secondary schools in Jordan, the US, and France, Dr. Shirazi’s talk will trace how the relationship between schooling and the formation of youth political subjectivities unfolds in times of uncertainty and flux, and how comparative approaches to educational research may generate new conceptual and methodological insights.
