Teaching Interests

Professor Apple teaches courses in curriculum theory, development, and research, and in the sociology of curriculum. His major interests lie in the relationship between culture and power in education and in democratizing educational policy and practice.

Scheduled Teaching

  • Fall 2012 - Professor Apple is currently on leave from the University of Wisconsin - Madison and is the Hallsworth Visiting Distinguished Professor of Political Economy in the School of Education at the University of Melbourne, Australia.
     

Research Interests

Professor Apple's research centers on the limits and possibilities of critical educational policy and practice in a time of conservative restoration.
