Catherine Dixon Reigel is a PhD student in the department of Educational Policy Studies with a PhD minor in women’s and gender history. She received her BA in history from the University of California, Santa Cruz and her MA in education from the University of Colorado, Boulder. Broadly, Catherine is interested in histories of feminist intellectual thought and student activism in higher education. More specifically, her research centers on campus sexual politics and student voices and experiences within anti-rape mobilization. Her dissertation explores the emergence of the Womyn of Antioch, a student group at Antioch College in the late 1980s/early 1990s, who notoriously attempted to codify rules for sexual interaction via affirmative consent. Before coming to UW-Madison, Catherine worked in institutional research and compliance at the University of Denver.
