Biography

Giácomo Rabaiolli Ramos is a PhD student in Educational Policy Studies with a concentration in Comparative International Education and Global Studies. He is interested in how different social actors within and outside of the State—such as religious institutions, families, and non-governmental organizations—conceptualize and implement education for citizenship, and what the consequences of citizenship education practices are for human rights and democracy. His doctoral research explores the multifaceted role of the Church in shaping citizenship education in Brazilian schools. Giácomo holds bachelor’s degrees in Political Science and Anthropology from the University of Chicago, and a master’s degree in International Education Policy Analysis from Stanford University.
