Berman, Daniel

Daniel Berman is a Teaching Faculty for the Educational Policy Studies Department and the Curricular Program Manager for the Center for Campus History. He holds a Ph.D. in Educational Policy Studies and Curriculum & Instruction from the University of Wisconsin – Madison. His dissertation, Defending Democracy: Social Studies and Citizenship Education During World War II, explores the history of social studies and democratic citizenship education during the second world war. While his main focus is historical research, he also researches contemporary challenges within classrooms, most recently the emergence of conspiracy theories and teaching about 9/11 and the War on Terror.
