Isa Whitten

I chose to major in Education Policy Studies because I believe societal reform starts in education, and I wanted to learn how to make the world a better place. Through my time in college, I believe I have. From classes on egalitarianism and educational justice to taking on leadership roles in the Filipinx American Student Organization (FASO), I have learned how to advocate for my community and various social justice issues. As a future member of the Teach for America Corps in the Bay Area, where I am originally from, I now know what kind of teacher I want to be. I cannot wait to use what I have learned as an Education Major to make my classroom a welcoming and empowering space.
