I am a joint Ph.D. student in Educational Policy Studies and History. I am broadly interested in gender, women, and sexuality in the late twentieth century United States (around 1960s-1990s). My current research centers the history of girlhood, focusing on girls’ culture and activism in American high schools. I earned my M.A. in history at the University of Arkansas where my thesis examined how high school U.S. history textbooks from the 1960s to the 2010s portrayed women’s history. Outside of teaching and academia, I enjoy spending time with my cat, Ollie, and watching many hours of reality T.V.
